PII Detection and Data Masking

Learn how to ensure that PII is excluded from the knowledge sources. On the Botgenuity.com platform you can now enable PII detection and data masking to ensure that PII is never stored or shared.

PII Masking of Knowledge Sources

If PII is detected in the content of a document which is crawled by Botgenuity, users have the option to anonymize that information. This is configurable on the chatbot-level.

Enabling PII Masking

To enable the PII Masking feature for a specific chatbot, follow these steps:

  1. Select the chatbot you wish to configure.
  2. Click on the 'Settings -> Security' menu item in the left-side sidebar.
  3. Toggle the 'Enable PII Anonymization' switch on the Security page.
  4. Choose the desired PII types from the dropdown menu.
  5. Save your changes.

Please note that PII masking will only take effect after a source is refreshed or retrained if it was not enabled before the source was imported.
